Description
Monoethanolamine, or ethanolamine (MEA), is a clear, colorless liquid with an ammonia-like odor. It is miscible with water and almost all common organic solvents. Monoethanolamine is used as a corrosion inhibitor in boiler feed water, and has important applications as a chemical intermediate in insecticides, dry-cleaning soaps, gas absorbents, rubber chemicals and plasticizers.
