Aminotrimethylene Phosphonic Acid, most commonly referred to as ATMP, is represented by the formula C₃H₁₂NO₉P_3. ATMP is an aqueous solution that is used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor, deflocculant, sequestrant, and as a water stabilizer in cooling and boiler water treatment systems. ATMP is freely miscible in water, alcohol and organic solvents. It is very stable over wide pH and temperature ranges.
